Yuyao, adjacent to Cixi under Ningbo, is known nationwide as the seat of 'China Plastics City' (Zhongguo Suliao Cheng) — one of the country's largest plastics raw-material trading markets, with annual trading volume measured in the hundreds of billions of RMB and thousands of resin traders on site. Because resin trading, tooling and injection molding sit within the same cluster, Yuyao factories quote faster and cheaper on custom-molded household products than almost anywhere else in China: a new mold is typically cut in 15–35 days, and material cost advantages from on-site resin markets flow directly into unit prices. Food-grade PP, Tritan, silicone and recycled-PCR programs are all routable within the cluster.
For buyers, Yuyao is the natural first stop for plastic housewares, kitchen gadgets and storage programs — with strong ODM capability and low tooling costs. The watch-outs are resin quality variation between reprocessed and virgin material, and food-contact compliance, both of which are controlled through material certification requirements and pre-shipment testing.
Trial orders typically 1,000–3,000 pcs per SKU; custom-molded programs from 3,000–5,000 pcs. Standard lead time 20–35 days (plus 15–35 days tooling for ODM). We recommend written resin specifications (virgin vs. reprocessed percentage), food-contact test reports (LFGB/FDA) for kitchen SKUs, and AQL 2.5 inspection with carton drop tests before shipment.
