Zhangzhou, Fujian, is one of China's most important canned-food production bases, often called the country's canned-food capital. The city and its surrounding counties host hundreds of food-processing enterprises, with canned output commonly cited in the millions of tonnes annually and canned mushrooms, bamboo shoots, lychees, loquats and vegetables accounting for significant national and export shares. Zhangzhou's subtropical climate supplies abundant raw materials — mushrooms, asparagus, bamboo, citrus, lychee, longan and tropical fruit — giving processors year-round input supply.
The cluster's strength is vertical integration: mushroom growing sheds and fruit orchards within short haul of the canneries, in-house tinplate can-making, retort sterilization, and certified labs. Many factories hold FDA facility registration and export certifications including HACCP, ISO 22000, BRC and IFS, with long track records supplying US, EU, Japanese and Middle Eastern private-label programs. For buyers of private-label canned goods, Zhangzhou offers factory-direct production with full export documentation (FDA registration, health certificates, phytosanitary and COO) and recipe flexibility — brine, syrup density (14–22 Brix), salt levels and can sizes. The watch-outs are seasonal raw-material windows (mushroom and fruit seasons compress capacity), Brix/brine consistency between batches, and seam-integrity on high-speed lines; our QC covers seam teardown checks, net weight/drain weight audits and third-party lab testing per shipment.
